Suspected DUI driver arrested after crash leaves e-scooter rider critically injured

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 41-year-old man riding an electric scooter suffered life-threatening injuries after he was struck by an SUV in Rancho Bernardo Friday night, authorities said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision was reported around 9:50 p.m. near the intersection of Camino Del Norte and Paseo Montanoso.

Police said the 41-year-old man was riding an electric scooter northbound in the east crosswalk of Camino Del Norte when he was hit by a 2005 Honda Pilot traveling westbound.
