What started as a bank robbery call yesterday at a busy Denton shopping center quickly turned into a cross-state case after officers arrested a 46-year-old man they say walked out with cash from a Rayzor Ranch bank and was already wanted for another holdup in Arkansas.
Police say the man was carrying money believed to be taken in the heist and is now sitting in the city jail while investigators coordinate with out-of-state authorities.
Arrest in Rayzor Ranch
Denton police identified the suspect as John Dyer, 46, and say officers took him into custody after responding to a reported bank robbery in the Rayzor Ranch area. According to officers, Dyer was found with cash that had been taken from the bank, and Arkansas authorities already had an outstanding warrant for him in connection with another bank robbery, as reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the bank or said whether any weapons were used in the Denton robbery.
