Eagle River Color Run aims to brighten dark days for military families

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Around 100 runners gathered at the Sanctuary of Eagle River Church Saturday morning to partake in the third annual Eagle River 5K Color Run.

The event, organized by the church, raises money for the Fisher House Foundation, which provides free long-term housing to the families of hospitalized armed service members.

“It’s our best event so far,” Pastor Derrick Seagraves said. “In the past, we’ve been able to donate about $1,500. We’re hoping to double that this year.”…
