The Granite City City Council meeting on July 21 opened at 7pm, all council members were present.
Motions were made to pay the bills from the town fund and the general assistance fund. Both passed.
Public correspondence began with Rebecca Wells, a resident who is deeply concerned with data centers potentially coming to Granite City. She is afraid that a data center will drive people away, as well as pollute the area. She claims that her ideas are strongly supported by the youth of the area. The next speaker, Joyce Johnson, also expressed concerns about data centers regarding health, pollution, and animals.
