Hot and humid for the last week of July

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — I can’t rule out a few showers/storms over the next few hours, but storms should begin to fizzle out as we approach sunset.

A bit of a pattern change will happen Monday, the front that has been sitting over the area since Thursday will finally move out. This will allow an area of high pressure over the southern plains to slide a little bit closer to our area. Due to this, we will see somewhat lower rain chances and very hot and humid conditions through the middle of the week.

Highs for Monday are expected to reach the upper 90s with the heat index between 100-105 degrees. We will have to watch a complex of rain and storms moving south from Tennessee Monday morning, if these storms can hold together, this would give us a chance for a few showers and rumbles of thunder by late Monday morning into the afternoon. This would also give us more cloud cover and could keep our temperatures on the lower side…
