Carolina Forest United Methodist Church looks to start community garden

CAROLINA FOREST, S.C. (WBTW) – Carolina Forest United Methodist Church hopes to create a community garden on its newly acquired nine-acre property, with church leaders saying the space will be open to everyone, regardless of religious beliefs.

For almost two years, Tyler Strange has been building up the congregation of Carolina Forest United Methodist Church. Since forming, the congregation has been meeting in neighborhood clubhouses and local middle schools. The reason: to change the definition of “church”.

“It’s not a building you go to,” Strange said. “It’s a group of people you are with as a purpose. So we’re building around a purpose.”…
