Arkansas shoppers will be able to save on back-to-school purchases during the state’s annual sales tax holiday on Saturday, Aug. 1, and Sunday, Aug. 2, when state and local sales taxes will be waived on a wide range of qualifying clothing, school supplies and electronics.
The 48-hour tax holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. Saturday and ends at 11:59 p.m. Sunday. Created by state lawmakers to help families prepare for the new school year, the annual event is held the first weekend in August.
Clothing and footwear priced at less than $100 per item qualify for the exemption. Eligible items include everyday apparel such as shirts, pants, dresses and shoes, as well as baby blankets, raincoats, school uniforms, hats, aprons, neckties, scarves, steel-toed boots and disposable diapers…
