New choices for Indian, Venezuelan, Thai, tacos and more around Tacoma

As summer tries to pass us by, Tacoma has welcomed some anticipated new restaurants and cafes serving up everything from heart-healthy bowls to xiao long bao.

Two former teriyaki spots have been replaced by an Indian restaurant (in Northeast Tacoma) and a Thai restaurant (near Fircrest). You’ll also find fresh inspiration for pizza and burgers, tacos and beer, macarons and lemonades. Plus, one Eastside haunt has changed hands.
