Children found hungry in car given meals as CHP Fort Tejon makes DUI arrest

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A driver was arrested for suspected DUI by CHP after being reported for reckless driving, while officers also found children in the vehicle who had gone without food since 6 a.m. and were cared for until family arrived.

The California Highway Patrol said on July 23, 2026, at around 3:05 p.m., allied agencies and CHP Fort Tejon officers were able to find a driver who was reported to be driving recklessly by other motorists.
