Driver arrested for OWI with a minor

Steven R. Hoover, 52 years of age, from Sun Prairie has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Wausau Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with one child in the vehicle under the age of 16.

On Sunday, July 26, a trooper with the Wisconsin State Patrol, Wausau Post, responded to a single vehicle crash on State Highway 73 near 22nd Road, in the Town of Neshkoro, Marquette County. The trooper arrived on scene and located a 2016 Jeep Cherokee on the shoulder with crash damage. During the course of the crash investigation, the driver displayed indicators of impairment and a subsequent investigation, including standardized field sobriety testing, indicated the driver was impaired. An eight-year-old passenger was also in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The 52-year-old driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while impaired, first offense, with a passenger under 16 years of age. The driver was also charged with possession of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and possession of drug paraphernalia. The juvenile passenger was released to a responsible adult.
