ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A woman whose body was found offshore near San Diego last week has been identified by authorities as a former Anchorage woman.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office said the body of Bryn Waite, 26, was seen floating offshore near La Jolla Shores Beach Wednesday morning. Lifeguards brought her to shore and she was pronounced dead shortly after 9:30 a.m.
Waite played soccer at Central Washington University as a defender. Her university athletic bio lists her hometown as Anchorage, Alaska, and that she attended Service High School, where she graduated in 2018. The same CWU bio also shows she played Division II soccer in Washington during the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
Waite also attended Service High School and played for the girls soccer team, according to her MaxPreps’ Service High School profile.
