WAKEFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Wakefield man is facing multiple drug trafficking and firearm charges after Massachusetts State Police seized large quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine during a court-authorized search.
Suspect arrested following Springfield shooting on Fort Pleasant Avenue
According to State Police, troopers assigned to the Commonwealth Interstate Narcotics Reduction Enforcement Team (CINRET) South executed a search warrant on July 21 at a residence and vehicle in Wakefield believed to be connected to a narcotics supply source.
During the search, investigators said they recovered:
- 529 grams of fentanyl
- 422 grams of methamphetamine
- 94 grams of cocaine
- 23 grams of Percocet
- 35 grams of Suboxone
- A 9mm firearm
- A high-capacity magazine
- Ammunition
- U.S. currency
- Two cell phones
Police arrested 29-year-old Madhi B. Raoui of Wakefield following the search.
Raoui is charged with:
- Trafficking fentanyl, 200 grams or more
- Trafficking methamphetamine, 200 grams or more
- Trafficking cocaine, 36 grams or more but less than 100 grams
- Possession of a firearm with two prior violent or drug crime convictions and no Firearm Identification Card
- Possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number
- Possession of ammunition without a Firearm Identification Card
State Police have not released additional details about the investigation or Raoui’s court appearance.
