CU customers hopeful about replacements for aging poles and transformers

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — City Utilities of Springfield customers are hopeful for improved service, following the announcement of hundreds of power lines and transformers being replaced across the city.

The effort would replace over 500 aging poles and transformers in Springfield, about 135 in the coming year, with the proceeds of a $3 million grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
