33rd & Main, a seafood restaurant on Central Avenue in Charlotte, closed its doors earlier this year. Months of climbing food and fuel prices made it impossible to keep running. The owners shared the news on social media, saying they’d rather close than shrink portions or use cheaper ingredients.
Diners flocked to this place for stuffed seafood egg rolls, crab cakes, shrimp, fish, and other comforting dishes. The business started as a food truck, earning fans at festivals, breweries, and neighborhood gatherings around Plaza Midwood and Commonwealth before settling into a permanent spot.
