UNION COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) confirmed the first detection of the invasive yellow-legged hornet in the state.
State officials said the hornets were reported by a Union County homeowner who noticed suspicious activity at their hummingbird feeder. Further investigation found more adults near the Union and Mecklenburg county line.
