Erie County Prison officials are providing clarification following a temporary lockdown at the facility and addressing what they describe as inaccurate information circulating about prison operations.
According to prison officials, the lockdown lasted approximately 30 minutes and was implemented to allow staff to address an issue involving the facility’s Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system. The system controls various functions within a housing pod and other areas of the prison.
