VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with a July 9 shooting on Hampshire Lane that killed one man, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department.
Man hospitalized after being shot on Hampshire Lane in Virginia Beach
On July 9, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 700 block of Hampshire Lane at approximately 11 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and subsequently died. Police identified him as 48-year-old Derrick Outlaw.
During the investigation, officers identified 46-year-old Lashawn Lindsey as the suspect. On July 15, he was arrested and charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of firearm by a convicted felon. Police say additional charges could be forthcoming.
Lindsey was taken to Virginia Beach City Jail and is currently being held without bond.
