KC chef plans to expand his restaurants. But first, here’s where he eats takeout

The life of a chef is a busy one, as you’ll gather from one conversation with Amante Domingo, owner of Noka, The Russell and Le Champion.

When he’s not slicing up some of the city’s best sashimi dishes and running his mini empire, Domingo is making time for the gym, raising two kids, participating in collaborations with other chefs around the city and somehow staying in-the-know when it comes to the city’s dining scene.

“That excites me — helping my friends in the restaurant industry,” Domingo said.

When Domingo talks about his favorite restaurants, he does so first by dropping the first name of the chef or owner before getting into his favorite dish. He knows his fellow peers well, and maybe that’s because Domingo has worked in KC kitchens for around 20 years…
