DENVER (KDVR) — A traffic stop in Broomfield led to the seizure of “a large quantity of illegal drugs,” including 26.7 pounds of counterfeit fentanyl pills, along with over $10,000 in cash.
The Broomfield Police Department said the seizure happened on July 22 at around 6:33 p.m. after police officer Kearsley and K-9 Rodo assisted with a traffic stop.

During the traffic stop, K-9 Rodo was deployed, alerting officers to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
According to the department, inside the vehicle’s trunk, officers discovered a cooler and a suitcase filled with 26.7 pounds of counterfeit fentanyl pills and 4.55 pounds of fentanyl powder. Officers also seized $10,510.
