(SPONSORED) — King Solomon Baptist Church is hosting its second annual Community Give Back Day on August 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is held at the Church (910 Peterson Road, Colorado Springs, CO).
Attendees can expect free backpacks while supplies last, free groceries, free lunch, free financial counseling, free medical services (health screenings, including blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), and cholesterol, as well as dental), free haircuts, games, and giveaways.
Pastor Kelvin Dumas joined Loving Living Local host Justin Antweil to discuss the importance of having a not-for-self-but-for-service mindset.
“This is a day we set aside as a church for every member to serve our community in Cimarron Hills,” said Dumas. “We want to show the love of Jesus Christ to our community through serving them. We are not trying to preach to them. We are not trying to get them to join our church. We simply want to minister to people’s needs. Jesus was asked who our neighbor is. Everyone is our neighbor; therefore, everyone is invited. All are welcome regardless of their belief, race, or background. It doesn’t matter to us.”…
