North Myrtle Beach barricaded suspect in custody, police say

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A person who barricaded himself in an area around Causey Drive in North Myrtle Beach has been taken into custody, police said Wednesday afternoon.

The suspect, identified by police as Jason Davies, has been charged with first-degree assault and battery.

A News13 reporter said there are more than 15 police vehicles on scene, including officers from both North Myrtle and Horry County police departments, as well as SWAT team members.

Police first announced the response Wednesday morning, saying officers were in the 200 block of Causey Drive and that there was a significant law enforcement presence in the area.
