Megan Moroney Stops Denver Concert Early Due to Illness

Country singer Megan Moroney had to cut short her Denver concert on Tuesday night after performing just three songs, due to illness affecting her ability to continue.

Ball Arena confirmed the cancellation in a statement, explaining that Moroney was “unable to continue” and promising to share updates when available. Videos from attendees showed the “Tennessee Orange” artist speaking to the audience before ending the show early.

“This is obviously the last thing I would ever want to do, but I’m extremely sick,” Moroney said, according to multiple clips online. “I thought I did everything to make myself better, but after two songs, I just can’t keep going tonight. I promise I’ll make it up to you.”

She expressed her disappointment, saying she wanted to deliver the performance her fans deserved. With a hoarse voice and visible emotion, Moroney apologized and shared that she might retreat to her dressing room to cry.

Moroney later announced via Instagram that the concert would be rescheduled for August 27. Fans unable to attend the new date would receive full refunds, according to local reports.

“I never want to give you less than 100%, and I knew tonight I couldn’t do that,” she wrote.

Moroney is the latest artist this summer to face health issues mid-performance. Lionel Richie postponed shows on his recent tour after feeling dizzy during a concert in St.

Paul, Minnesota. He even sat down while performing “Dancing on the Ceiling” – a first in the song’s history – before doctors advised rest and the postponement of upcoming dates.

Similarly, Jon Bon Jovi cut short his Madison Square Garden concert when a sinus infection impaired his singing during “Livin’ on a Prayer.” Train’s Pat Monahan, a surprise guest that night, helped finish the song. Bon Jovi apologized to fans and vowed to find a way to reschedule, urging ticket holders to hold onto their stubs.

As these incidents show, even seasoned performers sometimes have to prioritize their health, much to the disappointment of devoted audiences. Fans will be hoping Megan Moroney recovers quickly and returns to the stage stronger than ever.
