Georgetown’s former spokesperson says controversial Horry County PIO hire made her feel pushed out

GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) – The city of Georgetown’s former spokesperson is speaking out, saying she felt pushed out as the city hired a former Horry County public information officer with a controversial past.

Cindy Thompson resigned from her role as the city’s public information officer last Friday, as the city brought in Mikayla Moskov as a part-time PR contractor.

Thompson said she felt pushed out by the decision to bring Moskov on. Thompson added she was uncomfortable with the idea of someone from out of town running the city’s social media pages, and didn’t want residents to confuse Moskov’s work for hers…
