Ohio agencies investigating potential violations related to creek spill, drinking water unaffected

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – State authorities are investigating whether any regulations were violated when fertilizer leaked into a Henry County creek, which resulted in a massive fish kill along an 11-mile stretch of the Maumee River.

A joint statement released Thursday from the various agencies involved in the spill response said the Ohio Department of Agriculture issued a cease-and-desist to require owners of the fertilizer storage tanks that leaked to stop using them.
