TARC launches redesigned bus network

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Transit Authority of River City will launch its redesigned bus network Sunday in Louisville, bringing new routes, new schedules, and the agency’s first downtown transfer center as part of a major systemwide change.

The new downtown hub is designed to bring multiple bus routes together so riders can transfer more quickly and easily. TARC leaders said the redesigned system is intended to improve reliability and help riders connect to different locations across the city.

“It’s been proven in other cities how efficient a pulse is,” said Bruce Withers, TARC chief operations officer and director of transportation. “It’s going to greatly improve our on-time performance for our fixed route systems. It’s going to make transferring from one route to another real easy for our passengers. It’s going to be great.”…
