SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI ) — As July comes to a close, regions throughout San Diego County and much of California will be under an Extreme Heat Warning through the start of August.
According to the National Weather Service, San Diego County deserts, mountains and inland valleys are under an Extreme Heat Warning, which began for mountains and deserts Thursday at 10 a.m. and will remain in effect until Sunday at 8 p.m. Meanwhile, the warning for inland valleys goes into effect Friday at 10 a.m.
The San Diego County desert regions expected to be impacted by the extreme heat include Borrego Springs. The warning also pertains to desert communities of Palm Springs, La Quinta, Cathedral City, Indio, Palm Desert and Coachella. Dangerously hot conditions are expected to affect those areas, with temperatures that could reach 122 degrees.
