Canyon City Manager Joe Price and his staff have requested Council consideration of an amendment to the City’s Special Event Ordinance that would modify the permitted hours for the consumption of alcoholic beverages during approved special events.
The proposed amendment, which was discussed at the latest City Commission meeting, would change the allowable consumption hours from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
This request, according to the City Commission meeting minutes, is primarily intended to accommodate events such as Fair on the Square and the Farmers Market, which operate during morning hours.
