A former Houston TV reporter has landed a new role outside the newsroom, at one of the region’s most closely watched companies.
Weeks after leaving FOX 26, Sherman Desselle announced Wednesday that he has joined Houston-based CenterPoint Energy as a senior corporate media specialist. During his time at the station, Desselle reported on CenterPoint, including its response to Hurricane Beryl and other major developments involving the utility.
In a social media post, Desselle said he’ll now work with the utility’s communications team to help deliver the company’s messaging. He reflected on how a reporting assignment in Houston while covering a major New Orleans story in 2021 ultimately led him to the city a year later…
