SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -The Springfield-Greene County Health Department conducted food safety education classes for vendors at the Ozark Empire Fair before service began, with inspectors focused on proper food handling throughout the duration of the event.
Health department outlines expectations
Eric Marcol with the Greene County Health Department said the fair presents a unique challenge because of its length.
“This is the longest fair that we have in the county — it’s well over a week, and there’s a lot of stuff that goes on here, and we want to make sure that our food vendors are prepared for the entire duration of that,” Marcol said.
