Two DC police officers leave department amid crime data manipulation investigation

WASHINGTON (7News) — Two Metropolitan Police Department officers have now left the department after being named in an Internal Affairs investigation into allegations that crime data was manipulated to make Washington, D.C. appear safer than it actually was.

The departures mean 11 of the original 13 officers placed on administrative leave as part of the investigation remain with MPD.
