QUINCY, MA — A person was critically injured Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 93 in Quincy, following a ride share driver’s call to state police about the passenger’s erratic behavior.
Massachusetts State Police said the driver called 911 shortly after 9 p.m. with safety concerns. A trooper then found the vehicle near Exit 8 on I 93 south.
What happened on the highway
Police said the trooper tried to speak with the passenger, but the person ran away on foot. Moments later, they were hit by a passing vehicle.
The injured person was taken to a Boston hospital with life threatening injuries, according to investigators.
