COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Five years after a mother of three was shot and killed by a stray bullet, her family still waits for an arrest.
Latoya Carpenter, a mother of three daughters, was driving down Chatterton Road on April 17, 2021, when she was struck in the head by a stray bullet. Her daughter, Sequoia Carpenter, said she was driving right behind her mother when the gunfire hit Latoya’s car.
“I heard the gunshots before I seen them,” Sequoia said, “Hundreds of bullets at one time, a lot of them really fast, like a machine gun or something.”…
