ST. LOUIS — The city of St. Louis Board of Adjustment voted to uphold the permit allowing a data center at the Armory, following eight hours of public testimony and three hours of deliberation. Residents who want to continue fighting the project now have to take their appeal to Missouri Circuit Court.
Among those who testified was Dr. Kasey Fowler-Finn, a professor of biology at Saint Louis University who has studied sound for 25 years. She says the three minutes allotted for public comment weren’t nearly enough to explain what she calls a widely misunderstood issue.
“I wish someone would sit down and talk to me because I think there’s a real lack of understanding,” Fowler-Finn said. “I feel like there’s been some reception that yes, noise is bad, but without understanding the intricacies of it from the perspective of myself — I’ve studied noise for 25 years. It’s hard to understand exactly how bad this is.”…
