UVA receives funding as part of $6.6 million boost to Ryan White HIV program

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Virginia is directing $6.6 million in new state funding to the Part B of the Ryan White Program, a division of the federal initiative that provides care to people living with HIV.

Dr. Laurie Forlano, director of epidemiology at the Virginia Department of Health, said the funding is aimed at ensuring enrolled patients remain the priority.

“The main driver of this is that we want to make sure that people who have HIV and are eligible and are enrolled in this program, that’s our center,” Forlano said…
