A 92-bed psychiatric hospital in northern Colorado has reopened under a new name and ownership, nearly a year and a half after its predecessor shut down amid regulatory failures and patient lawsuits. SierraVista Behavioral Health is back in business in Johnstown, but the building’s history means the new operator is opening under a very bright spotlight.
SierraVista says it is accepting adults for acute inpatient psychiatric care and short-term stabilization. The facility is part of NewVista Behavioral Health, which operates treatment facilities in several states, while The Denver Post reports Colorado granted SierraVista a license after state inspections in April.
