Pediatrician shares tips to fight back-to-school illness

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Parents are bracing for the return of back-to-school germs as classrooms fill up for the new school year.

First-time mom Maddie Carden is preparing for her four-month-old son to start daycare. “We start daycare in two weeks. I’m very nervous taking the baby because you always hear that when they start daycare they’re going to get sick,” Carden said.

She’s planning a strict sanitation routine to protect her son. “I’m going to keep the antibacterial wipes in the car. Everyday when he gets in I’m going to wipe his feet as soon as we get home. We’re going to put him in the bath and change clothes,” Carden said…
