Syracuse, N.Y. — A gun storage and security expert was charged Friday after attempting to board a flight at Syracuse Hancock International Airport with a loaded handgun, according to airport authorities.
Thomas C. Kubiniec, 64, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm in a sensitive location, a felony, said Kieran Coffey, a spokesperson for the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority, which operates the airport.
Shortly after 10 a.m., Transportation Security Administration agents at the airport’s main terminal discovered the Sig Sauer P365 handgun in Kubiniec’s backpack during a screening, Coffey said…
