MIDVALE, Utah, Aug. 1, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A massive fire at a Midvale apartment complex continued burning early Saturday, more than 12 hours after it forced hundreds of residents from their residences.
Unified Fire Authority Capt. Patrick Costin said firefighters had shifted to defensive operations at the North Union Apartments because conditions inside the four-story building were too dangerous.
“The fire is continuing up in that attic space, those upper four apartments,” Costin said. “It’s just too dangerous to put crews directly next to the fire.”…
