A nearly 4-acre fire spread through a wooded residential area Friday, July 31, between Goshen and Mount Pisgah.
Crews rushed to Highway 58 near Seavey Loop Road around 3:20 p.m. to protect homes from the fire. They knocked it down about an hour later but planned to patrol for hot spots through the evening.
“Just be aware it is hot and dry and things are ready to burn,” said Lt. Tim Wallace of the Lane County Sheriff’s Office at the incident command post of the fire — a resident’s backyard.
“Be very careful and aware, and you should always be ready to evacuate in a moment’s notice if you need to,” he said…
