Napa Valley’s Signorello Estate could be sold at a public auction in August after its lender moved to foreclose on the winery, citing a $37 million debt.
The auction, first reported by the Napa Valley Register, presents the latest challenge for Signorello Estate, which was the first winery that was confirmed to be completely destroyed by the 2017 Atlas Fire. Owner Ray Signorello Jr. quickly reopened a temporary tasting room, but it took him more than six years to rebuild the estate with a state-of-the-art facility designed to compete with Napa’s most respected wineries.
But Signorello’s future is once again uncertain. The estate’s lender, American AgCredit, has moved to sell not only the winery’s land, but also its buildings, equipment and right to use of the Signorello Estate name. The estate did not immediately respond to a request for comment…
