The peak of the current heat wave was occurring this weekend in San Diego County as an area of high pressure stays over the region, the National Weather Service said Saturday.
The weather system will weaken and push slowly eastward through the upcoming week, bringing slight cooling and increasing winds across the mountains and deserts, forecasters said.
There will be increasing monsoonal moisture as well, but the chance for rainfall in the mountains continues to look limited through the end of next week, the NWS said…
