On July 27, Michael DeAngelo Clayton, 39, was convicted of two counts of first-degree felony drug trafficking, two counts of smuggling contraband into a detention facility and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
Facing 85 years in prison, Clayton entered an open no-contest plea. This means there wasn’t a prior negotiated sentencing agreement with prosecutors, and Judge Susanne Wilson Bullard could have imposed several more decades onto Clayton’s prison sentence. She sentenced him to 15 years in prison with a three year minimum mandatory.
Clayton has over two dozen prior felony and misdemeanor adjudications, the majority of which are drug-related, and this will be his 6th Florida prison sentence. According to the Florida Department of Corrections website, he is also known as “Big Mike The Rapper.”
