Kentucky child killer released after moving to, then being arrested in Marion County

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – A man who killed a 6-year-old boy in Kentucky in 2015 and was later arrested in Marion County is walking free again.

Ronald Exantus, 42, killed 6-year-old Logan Tipton in Kentucky, and assaulted the boy’s siblings. He was arrested, found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity but still faced jail time for an assault charge.

Last year, Exantus’ early release for good behavior made national headlines, even getting the attention of U.S. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Florida law requires a convicted felon to register, whether the felony was in-state or out of state, within 48 hours of relocation. Exantus failed to do that after moving to Marion County in November…
