The Conyers Police Department Criminal Investigations Division partnered with Project Beloved, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual assault, to transform the department’s soft interview room into a more welcoming, trauma-informed space.
“The project began with a fresh coat of paint in a softer, more calming color to help create an environment that feels less intimidating for survivors,” a Conyers Police Department social media post read.
On Wednesday, July 22, local volunteers joined Conyers Police detectives to unpack and install new furniture, artwork and décor designed to further enhance the room and provide a safe, comfortable setting for survivor interviews…
