Fifteen years ago, on August 3, 2011, Little Rock reached its all-time record high temperature of 114° since record keeping began in 1874. It was in the middle of a week long heat wave of 100°+ high temperatures. That day was so hot, that on the next morning Little Rock set its all-time record high low temperature of 85°.
Several other cities set all time record high temperatures on that August 3. Four had max temperatures hotter than Little Rock. Silver Hill in Searcy County reached 116°. Fort Smith, Russellville, and Morrilton each reached 115°
Along with Little Rock’s 114°, five other cities/towns reached 114°. Two reached 113°. Four reached 112°. Five reached 111°, and five reached 110°.
