Hartselle man accused of stealing more than $14,000 in cash and assorted coins from residence

A Hartselle man was arrested last week after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in cash and hundreds of dollars’ worth of Susan B. Anthony coins from a residence where he had been working, according to an affidavit signed by a Morgan County sheriff’s investigator.

Zachary Nicholas Patterson, 21, was charged with first-degree theft of property on July 28. He was released from the Morgan County Jail on Wednesday after posting a $5,000 bond, court records show.

Deputies responded Tuesday to a reported theft in the 800 block of Alabama 36 East and spoke with a man who had contacted law enforcement on the victim’s behalf…
