AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — The City of Amarillo Landfill will begin operating under new year-round hours following a devastating wildfire that escaped the facility and destroyed dozens of homes.
Beginning Aug. 17, the landfill will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The last load will be accepted at the scale house at 4:30 p.m. to provide customers time to unload and allow employees to complete closing procedures.
The change eliminates the landfill’s seasonal schedule. The facility is currently open until 7 p.m. on weekdays from April through October…
