FBI donates surplus body armor to Alaska police departments

The FBI is providing surplus body armor to police departments across Alaska to help improve officer safety.

The FBI recently donated 30 body armor kits to the Wasilla Police Department, following an earlier donation to King Cove Public Safety in April.

The body armor is used but remains serviceable. FBI officials say the program allows law enforcement agencies to obtain protective equipment without having to purchase it themselves…
