GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Voters in Grand Rapids’ 1st Ward, who have been down one city commissioner for the majority of the year, will cast their ballots Tuesday to narrow the field of candidates.
Three candidates — Jordoun Eatman, LindseyPerez-Plescher and Steve Tibbe — are running for the open seat. The two who get the highest number of votes in Tuesday’s primary will face off in the general election in November.
Drew Robbins stepped down to run for higher office in February, leaving Alicia Belchak as the only representation on the City Commission for the 1st Ward. Commissioners couldn’t come to a consensus for months on appointing someone to fill the vacant seat until the end of the year…
