Washtenaw County jail officer faced retaliation for reporting harassment, lawsuit says

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI – A former corrections officer at the Washtenaw County jail claims in a new lawsuit he was sexually harassed by a colleague and then punished with undesirable overnight shift assignments after reporting the conduct.

Andre Lewis sued Washtenaw County on July 24, alleging violations of state civil rights and whistleblower protection laws.

Lewis quit July 6 after being forced to work midnight shifts and facing an “intolerable and cruel work environment,” according to his complaint…
